James Squire Trivia

If you stop by James Squire Hotel on a Wednesday evening, you can expect to walk into a room of laughter, whispering, plus a few serious faces. Welcome to James Squire Trivia, held weekly at 7.30pm!

The night is brought to you by Alan from the Melbourne Trivia Company, the man best known for writing the famous beer cap trivia. Questions are casual, fun and suited to all personalities, including music, sport, popular culture and general knowledge. As Alan says, ‘I love trivia- the really useless stuff!’.

Vouchers will be given away all night for creativeness and quick thinkers, as well as of course the highest scoring team of the night. Bring along a group of friends to form a team or join a table to meet some new ones! The kitchen is open until late, so be sure to enjoy a few beers, a bite to eat and lots of laughs.

Menu Prices Dropped & $5 Locals Night!

Big news at James Squire Hotel in the Docklands- prices have been slashed and are here to stay, PLUS a new Locals Night is beginning!

The whole menu has had prices drastically reduced; entrees are now as low as $10.50, parmas from just $14.50 and desserts are all only $9.50. The massive price cut means you can afford to eat out any night of the week.

Pre Match Beers at James Squire

Heading to the footy this weekend? Only a 10 min walk from Etihad Stadium, James Squire can provide you with the perfect pre-footy food and drinks. Head down for the Pie of the Week and a few beers before the game. This week’s special is lamb and vegetable pie, served with fat chips.

Essendon will play the Gold Coast Suns at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 1 May at 1.10pm.

James Squire also wishes to thank all those involved in last week’s ANZAC Day event, making it such a success. Throughout both ANZAC Day and the ANZAC Day public holiday, over 100 free meals and beers were distributed amongst the diggers over lunch and dinner. Great meals, great company and great to share the day with so many brave veterans and their families.

James Squire: A welcome experience.

Walking into James Squire last night, it became obvious that this Hotel isn’t your average pub. Classy, yet incredibly warm and inviting, it was impossible to not feel comfortable.

Browsing through the menu, it was too hard to say no to a ‘Parma & a Pot’. Picking a ‘Lash’ from the multiple options of parma’s available, I managed to talk my friends into each choosing a different one; how else was I to work out which one I would order on my returning visit!

It seemed we had only just ordered when our friendly waiter swiftly delivered our parma’s to our table, accompanied by hand selected beers to carefully match our individual meals. My crispy crumbed tender chicken breast, topped with bacon, button mushrooms and delicious melted King Island blue & mozzarella couldn’t be faulted. Giant rustic golden potato fries on the side really ensured I would not be leaving unsatisfied!

Sitting back afterwards on the relaxing couches, we realized the biggest dilemma would be convincing ourselves to leave. But I like to think that I didn’t leave James Squire Hotel; I am in fact just having a short break before a welcoming return. After all, there are still many more parma’s to try and beers to taste!
